The City of Bristol is accepting bids for erosion repairs at its closed landfill accessible via Lake Avenue, Bristol, Connecticut. Bid documents may be obtained at no charge by downloading from the City of Bristol website via the document link noted below.

Bids will be accepted until October 12, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the City of Bristol Purchasing Department, 131 North Main Street, 2nd Floor, Bristol CT 06010, at which time bids will be opened and read. Bids received after the opening date and time will not be considered for award. The City reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bid, to reject any or all bids, and to accept the bid that in its judgment is in its best interest.

A non-mandatory bidder’s conference will be held on October 4, 2023 at 10:00 am at the project site to review the scope of work. Interested bidders are directed to enter the site via the Transfer Station located at 685 Lake Avenue, Bristol CT.

Prospective bidders shall examine the “Instruction to Bidders” and “Supplementary Instructions to Bidders” and shall comply and conform strictly with the conditions and instructions contained therein.

The awarded contractor will be required to secure a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract award, provided by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Connecticut. The requirements for prevailing wage rates are to apply to the resultant contract award.

The City reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bid, to reject any or all bids, and to accept the bid that in its judgment is in its best interest. Bids must be firm and may not be withdrawn for a period of 90 days following the bid opening.

The Contractor will take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment without regard to their race, color, religion, gender, or national origin.
