Spring Paving Schedule

The City of Bristol’s Public Works Department has released its schedule for the 2021 spring paving program which will be completed in two phases. “The initial phase consists of milling off the existing pavement of the road,” said Public Works Director Raymond Rogozinski. “The second phase consists of installing a new roadway surface and will commence shortly after the first phase.  Once construction is complete, the City will repair any affected driveway aprons.”

The 2021 spring roadway paving program begins on April 12, 2021 and will be completed by the fall. The following streets will be milled and then paved:

       Field Street                                          View Street
       Marconi Avenue                                 Newell Avenue
       Rudolph Road                                      Rudolph Place
       Douglas Road                                      Manross Road
       Lincoln Street                                      Tuttle Road
       Gridley Street                                      Clearview Avenue
       Caswell Street                                     Massachusetts Drive
       Windham Road                                   Bridgeport Avenue
       Bradley Street                                     Goodwin Street
       Lois Street                                           Sylvester Street
Woodmere Rd.                                    Riverside Avenue (Main St. to N. Main St.)
       Summer Street (Main to Center)

“There may be minor traffic delays during construction, however roads will remain open for mail delivery, emergency vehicles, and local traffic at all times,” said Mayor Ellen Zoppo-Sassu. “Temporary “No Parking” signs will be posted as needed during construction.”

“In addition to the spring paving program, the Bayberry and Surrey Drive neighborhood will undergo reconstruction of the roadways surfaces,” said Councilwoman Brittany Barney. “This process is much more involved and residents on those two streets will receive a separate notice outlining the extensive work this road reconstruction entails. This project is anticipated to begin April 12, 2020.

Questions or concerns about these projects should be directed to the Public Works Engineering Division at 584-6125.
