Important Dates and Deadlines

PARTY TRANSFER - MUNICIPAL PRIMARY- JUNE 12, 2023

Last day that an elector can transfer from one party to another and be eligible to vote in Primary of new party. (CGS 9-59) 

FOURTEENTH DAY BEFORE PRIMARY REGISTRATION SESSION - AUGUST 29, 2023

You may enroll in person during our extended session on August 29th from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

New voters may submit mail-in applications and must be postmarked or received by Registrar of Voters by August 29th. For unaffiliated voters, the mail-in application must be received (not merely postmarked) by the Registrar of Voters by August 29th. 

In-person registration of a new voter or an unaffiliated voter may be received until 12:00 noon on September 11th.

MUNICIPAL PRIMARY - SEPTEMBER 12, 2023

Polls to be open 6:00 am to 8:00 pm. Electors in line by 8:00 pm permitted to vote. (CGS 9-174)

SEVENTH DAY BEFORE ELECTION REGISTRATION SESSION - OCTOBER 31, 2023

In person, mail-in and on-line cut-off.   Last Regular voter registration session.  All mail-in voter registration applications must be received or post-marked by this date.  Hours:  8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

This is also the deadline to register to vote using the Online Voter Registration System.

Those whose rights as to age, citizenship or residence mature after the above date may apply during the limited registration session on November 6, 2023 prior to 5:00 PM.  (CGS 9-19b(d))

Polls to be open 6:00 am to 8:00 pm. Electors in line by 8:00 pm permitted to vote. (CGS 9-174)
