"To protect and serve the community with integrity and professionalism"


Welcome to the Bristol Police Department website. The City of Bristol has a population of approximately 65,000 people and covers over 27 square miles. The police department consists of 121 sworn police officers and 25 civilian personnel. The department has been serving the community since 1893.

K9.Vest.jpgBristol’s patrol dog Murphy was recently presented with a new protective vest. A local student, Hayley Smith of Bristol was instrumental in raising the funds for the vest. She is a student at Chippens Hill Middle School and was able to raise $700 from student donations and local businesses. Murphy shows off the new vest with his handler, Officer Tim O’Brien.
