Welcome to the Bristol Police Department website. The City of Bristol has a population of approximately 65,000 people and covers over 27 square miles. The police department consists of 121 sworn police officers and 25 civilian personnel. The department has been serving the community since 1893.

Promotion Day
On January 5, 2015, the BPD held a promotional ceremony at police headquarters. Sergeant Michael Duval was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and Officer Matt Moskowitz was promoted to the rank of sergeant. Duval will be assigned to the Records Division and Moskowitz will be assigned to a patrol group on the second shift. Family, friends and co-workers joined in the ceremony. From left to right, Captain Gould, Chief Grimaldi, Sgt. Moskowitz, Lt. Duval, and Captain Calvello. From the BPD, good luck in your new assignments.
