Emergency Management Services
Department Responsibilities
The Emergency Management Department is responsible for the coordination of municipal emergency response activities to the effects of natural and man-made emergencies and disasters to protect the citizens of Bristol. Working with City first responders and other departments it takes all actions necessary to mitigate and control these events.
The Director of Emergency Management is responsible for updating the Emergency Operations Plan.
The Emergency Management Department urges all residents to 'Be Prepared' for these events and will provide emergency preparedness informational resources for their well being.
The Emergency Management Department also coordinates the efforts of the Bristol CERT (Community Emergency Response Team). These volunteers respond as second responders to City emergencies and disasters and assist the public during citywide civic events as requested.
